Provides the following support services:- Caregiver Consulting: Professional assistance providing information, assessment, education, coordination, and training for caregivers and care receivers- Caregiver Relief: Coordinates volunteer help for the person who cares for a chronically ill home-bound loved one. Allows the caregiver time to attend to other tasks and provides contact for the home-bound person - Caregiver Support Group: Helps spouses and family members with changes in the family unit; once a month in both Ely and Babbitt- Friendly Visits: Volunteer visits for area residents who might be homebound or just alone and want or need contact with the greater community- Grocery Delivery: Available for those who find it difficult or unsafe to navigate local grocery stores. Volunteers will deliver groceries to the home - Northwoods Memory Care Program: Guides clients and their families through Alzheimer's by helping to reduce stress and increasing family support- Tasty Tuesday: Provides a class to older adults at no cost at the Ely senior center. The class provides healthy recipes, food preparation, and more. Availability is limited.- Volunteer Rides: Coordinates rides that are not available through other services for local and long distance medical appointments, meetings, errands, and social events.

Provides walk in services a first come first serve basis.Assist with forms/application assistance, such as filling out Ramsey County forms, reading mail, paying parking ticket fees, and more.

Provides advocacy for people who have contacted local law enforcement but have needs that cannot be sufficiently addressed by law enforcement alone.

Offers centralized dispatch for 911, police, fire, and emergency medical services in Dakota County.

Direct Access allows an individual to go directly to a provider they choose to receive a comprehensive assessment and access care immediately. The county will assess individuals who need help paying for a chemical use assessment or treatment services through the Behavioral Health Fund. Services also include:- Designated staff that provide chemical dependency assessments- Referral to local community service providers for chemical assessments or treatment services. Also, directs individuals to visit www.fasttrackermn.org for additional resources.- When legal intervention is required, staff can assist with mental health and chemical dependency commitments

Provides a full-day diploma program for regular and special education students in grades 9 - 12. Also provides resources to students to excel through reduced class sizes, one-on-one teacher attention, or recover class credits. Offers various alternative learning school programs such as:- Credit Recovery: Accepts internal and surrounding area district students to earn credits by offering in-person or virtual class options- Freedom Academy: A full-day diploma program for students in grades 9 - 12. Provides small classroom size and one-on-one teacher attention.- New Beginnings: A full-day academic program for pregnant and parenting teens under the age of 22 who have not yet reached high school graduation.

Provides a call center and nurse line available 24 hours/7 days a week, with customer service representatives and nurses available to help schedule an appointment and answer health-related questions.

Emergency General Assistance meets the emergency needs of eligible individuals who are in an emergency and who are residents of the state. Funding availability may vary. EGA can offer emergency help with the following:- Damage or rental deposits on a case-by-case basis- Home repairs that make the house livable or clean up expenses for an apartment or home to make it livable- Moving expenses. May provide assistance to older adults or individuals living with a disability with moving fees associated with moving companies that pick up belongings and relocate the resident to a new residence.- Other additional food support for people who have special dietary needs- Property tax help for past due taxes- Transportation to relocate on a case-by-base basis for bus tickets only- Utility bills at risk of shut off such as electric, heating, or water bills. Rent must be current and up-to-date in order to receive assistance for utility help. NOTE: EGA does not help with rent assistance. Households who need rent assistance must apply through the Tenant Resource Connection Rent Help Hennepin application.
