Information, resources, and referral office to help people through difficult times. Staff provide an immediate assessment of emergency needs and offer resources to help deal with homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, gambling addictions, mental health problems, and help with public assistance. Additional services offered at the center include: - 7 bus passes for the general public daily; usually gone by 9:10 am. Can be accessed twice per month and an intake form must be filled out. - Free telephone line, mailboxes for people who are homeless, hygiene items, and household goods - Safe Bay is located in the parking lot and offers individuals and families living in cars and vans a place to rest without fear of crime, harassment, or being moved along by law enforcement or private security guards. Individuals and families can access showers, breakfast and housing navigation services provided by Daminao Center. - Work related transportation: - Gas vouchers: MUST have valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and proof of employment. Can only be accessed once per year. - Bus pass: MUST have ID and proof of employment. The value of a bus pass is $25 and can only be accessed once per year.

Transportation: Must be able to verify that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a medical appointment. Clients should bring a letter (on company letterhead) stating when they started working and when they will get their first paycheck. Transportation is limited to once a year. Case-by-case exceptions may be made depending on the transportation need. Employment services: job leads, resume assistance, job search techniques instruction Seasonal services: Family Camp, coats for kids, holiday programs for Easter and Thanksgiving, and emergency disaster services. A valid drivers license is required. - Vouchers: Provides vouchers for obtaining a state ID, Minnesota driver's license, birth certificate from any state, and to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store for clothing and/or housewares (no furniture). Food shelf which can be used once in a 30-day period. Families receive food for three - five days. Hygiene items may be available as supplies last. Vouchers for clothing (adults and families), and bedding/linens. Provides Bridging referrals for individuals needing furniture. Transportation: Bus and gas cards are available for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and in a Coordinated Entry program or for individuals who are starting a job but haven't received their first paycheck yet. HeatShare, seasonal services, Family Camp, back to school program, seasonal programs Coordinated Entry assessments for adult families and singles 24 and older in Anoka County Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP): Funds are only available to individuals and families facing an eviction. Funding varies month to month and may not be available. NOTE: One phone line is set aside for this program. It stays open until there are more than 80 requests per week. Then it is closes until staff are caught up on intakes. When the intakes are caught up, the line is opened again. Individuals should try the phone number a few times throughout the week. If someone asks, let them know to keep checking Line 5 - it will open again soon. Rapid Rehousing: Provides services for people experiencing homelessness that have found housing. Street Outreach: Provides outreach services such as food and transportation for people experiencing homelessness.

The program is available to blood cancer patients with significant financial need. Those who qualify will receive $500, once within a 6 month period, to cover the cost of treatment-related travel and lodging expenses for the patient and caregiver, including: ground transportation; tolls; gas; parking; car rental; car maintenance, repairs, and parts; air transportation; baggage fees; lodging; and ambulance services. The following expenses are not covered: food and beverages, alcohol, tobacco, clothing, medical/pharmacy expenses, and international travel. Any expense not covered by the program may be subject to audit and may result in loss of award.
The availability of financial assistance/vouchers varies month by month and may be limited to partial payments depending on the amount owed and funds available. Financial emergency assistance may be available once every 12 months and considered on a case-by-case basis for the following services: - Food vouchers - Furniture vouchers and referrals to Bridging to receive furniture - Gas money vouchers or gift cards are available once every 6 months, depending upon the situation - HeatShare program provides fuel oil, gas, and electric payment assistance to avoid disconnection - Information and referral for eye care and food shelf - Networking support - Other financial assistance for emergencies beyond the individual's control - Pathway of Hope: Mentoring program for families.
