All Mental Illness/Chemical Dependency programs vary in length and may be offered in short, medium and long-term formats ranging from 15 - 40 weeks. Many programs are gender-specific and vary by location.Outpatient and IOP ProgramMeets four times a week and has groups in both the mornings and evenings. Red Wing and Winona Outpatient locations also offer intensive outpatient programming (IOP) with housing for male and female residents. The IOP with housing program meets four times per week to support clients in their recovery. Rochester Outpatient location also offers intensive outpatient program (IOP) without housing.

Volunteer advocates complete a 40-hour training program to become Certified Volunteer Advocates in the state of Minnesota. After training, they answer the crisis line to provide emotional support, referrals, and information for victims of sexual assault and other crimes.Additionally, volunteers are trained to respond to Saint Mary's Emergency Department to support victims of sexual assault. Volunteer advocates assist victims/survivors during hospital sexual assault exams and law enforcement interviews. Volunteers must commit to taking one 8-hour shift per month.

Law students, under the supervision of practicing attorneys, assist participants in using the Minnesota Self-Help Center I-Can program to fill out divorce paperwork. The I-Can program is an online form tool that asks the user questions and creates the forms needed to start a divorce. Participants have the opportunity to submit their paperwork to the Self-Help Center for review before filing.
