Sexual Violence, Domestic Abuse, and Trafficking Advocacy Services - Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center

Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention: An intervention and healing program for Native women, girls, and Two Spirit people who have experienced intimate partner violence, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and/or commercial sexual exploitation. Offers counseling and community-based education activities to clients that encourage healing, build resilience, reduce risk of repeat traumas, etc. Healing Journey: A structured peer support group for adult American Indian women ages 18 and over who are challenged by chronic mental health, substance use, and trauma histories. ?Safe Harbor Initiative: A supportive program for youth ages 24 and under who have experienced sexual exploitation or are at risk of sexual exploitation. ?Sexual Assault Advocacy: Provides crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, forensic examination support, and court advocacy for American Indian survivors of sexual violence. Street Outreach: A collaborative street outreach program designed to facilitate a path towards a healthier life for people who are ready to make a positive change. Weekly program providing girls and feminine youth with a safe space to discuss development, mental health, struggles, and triumphs. Discussions are supported with soothing activities, development of coping skills, and a focus on active participation and listening skills. Affinity Groups - United Way of Southeast Minnesota - Rochester

Affinity groups within United Way are collaborations of donors with shared interests who are committed to significantly improving the quality of life in their communities through focused philanthropic giving, advocacy, and volunteering. Support Group - Breaking Free

Program features weekly prostitution support groups virtually. The 14-week group has a curriculum created and developed by survivors of the sex work life. After graduating, all participants are encouraged to attend an aftercare alumni group. Additional groups and services are available for relapse prevention, life skills/job skills, a speakers/writers bureau, psychotherapy by licensed practitioners weekly, street and community outreach, and a drop-in center available 40 hours a week.

Eureka Program: A five-year cohort for youth interested in STEM fields. Partners with the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota to guide participants to explore career interests and dreams while supporting them through high school graduation and preparing them for their next steps. - Girls RAP Program (Resolution and Prevention) Program: An intervention program that works with 12-18 years old girl-identifying youth using an empowerment framework. Community RAP works with youth who are involved or at-risk for involvement with the juvenile justice and adjacent systems. School-based RAP works with youth who may be experiencing challenges with or within the school environment. - Out-of-School Time Program: Available to girls and gender-expansive youth in grades 4-8 in the Minneapolis Public Schools and at YWCA Minneapolis. The program focuses on economic literacy, leadership, community engagement, and healthy decision making.
