Training for Educators - Network for the Development of Children of African Descent - NDCAD
Provides professional development training for educators, early childhood education providers, and human service workers. Helps participants improve cultural competencies and increases understanding about how to better serve children, families, and communities of African heritage. Food Support - Neighborhood House
Operates two free food markets available to shoppers twice per month that provide a supply of food that changes depending on donations (quantities are based on household size). Each market usually includes fresh produce, bread, refrigerator and dairy items, canned and boxed foods, cultural-specific items (Hmong, Latino, East African), frozen meat, and staple items.
Emergency bags are available on a walk-in basis once per month and include pre-packed grocery bag of dry/canned goods, one meat option, and one bag of cold items (milk, eggs, produce, etc.)

Services may include assistance with self-managing chronic health conditions, improve connections to community services, navigate and access health systems, address transportation barriers, and attend doctor appointments to assist with translation and advocacy. Social Workers help individuals navigate complex systems, such as economic assistance, physical and mental health systems, financial concerns, housing needs, and personal crisis.

Educational Grants for Students of Color - Page Educational Foundation
- Page Educational Grants: Awards annually renewable grants in the amount of $2500 - $3500 to Minnesota students of color who attend colleges, universities, and technical schools within the state of Minnesota. Students who accept financial aid from the Foundation are required to return to their communities and perform annual Service-to-Children projects with younger children of color.
- Service-to-Children Program: While attending college, Page Scholars perform volunteer service that brings them into contact with students of color in grades K - 8. Each Page Scholar is required to volunteer at least 50 hours during the academic year - roughly 2 hours a week during the school year. The purpose of the service requirement is to present each Page Scholar as a mentor and role model to children of color before the younger students have decided (or have been convinced) that education is not important.
- Page Connections: The program recruits volunteer adult mentors to partner with its Page Scholars. These adults support the Scholars in a variety of ways, particularly with completing their service-to-children projects. Senior Mentors create an important link between the Foundation and Scholars. This evidence-based curriculum focuses on families with children who are prenatal up to 5 years of age to promote parent-child interaction, child development, and family well-being in a home-visiting model. A culturally specific and multilingual team serves Latinx, Somali, and some additional East African communities.

Provides culturally appropriate pathways to homeownership for Somali women and their families, guiding women on how to utilize resources and tools for financial empowerment, and preparing them to make financial investments in a home. Services provided:
- Create an action plan and steps to achieve goals
- Develop a budget and savings plan
- Encouragement and nonjudgmental support to build financial confidence
- Homebuyer and financial education workshop
- Individualized planning unique to the needs of each woman
- One-on-one advice regarding credit reports and addressing credit problems

- Works with the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities to provide leadership training to people with disabilities in the Somali and Latinx communities
- Works with the Minnesota Department of Health to assess Somali communities throughout southern Minnesota for suicide prevention readiness and come up with plans to increase prevention measures
Resettlement
- Assistance with health care access, legal protection, education, training for income generation skills, and other services
- Assists new arrivals with documentation paperwork and in navigating the American system
- English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are taught at Faribault site through partnership with Faribault Adult Basic Education
- Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services assists with legal issues and documentation
- Works with Rice County Social Services to connect transportation and childcare resources, and provide job search assistance
Youth and Elders
- Programming for health and socialization is provided for elders in partnership with UCare
- Provides work experiences and supported employment to older workers through the Senior Community Supported Employment Program
- Through partnerships with the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, leadership, soft skills training, and assistance with job searching is providing to youth

- Fare for All Express discounted grocery food program (monthly by walk in) during designated hours
- Free income and property tax assistance (offered once or twice a week, three months each year)
- Free monthly family movie nights and book fairs held three times annually

- On-site Alcoholics Anonymous-support groups (two options weekly)
