Adult Group Therapy - Woodland Centers

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy group psycho-educational and depression management skills training program with group process. Program has 4 modules, with 4 lessons in each module. There is minimal homework for the individual to complete. This can be an adjunct to individual psychotherapy and/or as a step-down from a higher level of care. ?- Thoughts: Learn to identify the individual's thinking patterns and change the way they think ?- Activities: Learn relaxation skills, ways to increase pleasant activities, and how to set meaningful and achievable goals ?- Interpersonal Skills: Learn to identify strategies that work to improve the individual's relationships with others, assertiveness skills, and how to handle conflict ?- Depression and Health: Learn how sleep, diet, and exercise affect depression and the individual's overall health Depression Management Groups meet weekly. Each Module takes 4 meetings, so completion of all four modules takes about 4 months. To participate in the training, individuals do not have to be involved with individual therapy or be taking medication. ?- Learn about depression and how to decrease the chances of becoming depressed in the future ?- Learn what may have contributed to how an individual's depression started and why it is difficult to get out of it ?- Learn coping skills to manage depression and reduce its negative effects on their life

Wellness Recovery Action Plan - Wellness in the Woods

WRAP is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that is used to recover from health, mental, and life issues. Program uses evidence-based programs and practices. It can be modified to use with teams, family members, and youth. Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) is a national evidence-based program for late-life Depression. PEARLS brings mental health care to reach older adults who want to improve the way they feel. Services include: - 6-8 sessions where participants focus on learning problem-solving skills and brief behavioral techniques - Coaches help empower individuals to take action and make lasting change so participants can lead more active and rewarding lives - Participants are guided in a seven-step process to define and select problems they want to address and are supported by the coach in selecting a solution. Common selected problems may be financial concerns, social isolation, health care needs, and housing-related issues. - Psychiatric supervision and consultation - Social and physical activity. Coaches work with participants to increase social and physical activities inside or outside the home.
