Applicant must be a victim of the crime, must make a police report and be cooperative with the investigation, must not have been engaged in criminal behavior at the time of their victimization, and must have a financial need. Applicant must live in Dakota County or the crime they are a victim of should have occurred in Dakota County. Applicant can apply once per crime. Payment is made to the vendor/service provider (i.e. locksmith, mechanic, etc.) directly whenever possible. A check can reimburse the victim only with proof of payment, such as an original receipt. - Assistance with preparation of victim impact statements
