Provides community health programs such as:- Child and Teen Checkup Outreach: Helps families find a doctor, dentist, psychologist, and transportation- Disease and Prevention Control: Monitor and investigate potential disease processes through adult/child immunizations, communicable disease prevention programs, emergency preparedness plans, surveillance of the county's environment, and tuberculosis screening- Environmental Health: Help protect the residents from environmental health hazards through programs to reduce exposure to health risks, such as food and waterborne diseases, radiation, occupational health hazards, and public health nuisances. Provides radon, lead, and well water education.- Follow-Along Program: Provides parents with information about their child's development during infancy and early childhood through mailing questionnaires- Health Promotion: Provides presentations and/or materials on health topics for small and large groups. Topics may include chemical and tobacco use prevention, family health, mental health, nutrition, and physical activity- Public Health Preparedness for Emergencies: Funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in partnership with local, state, and territorial public health departments to provide assistance to public health departments across the nation. This is a Medicaid program for beneficiaries who need help in paying for Medicare services. The beneficiary must have Medicare Part A and limited income and resources. For those who qualify, the Medicaid program pays Medicare Part B premiums. Eligibility begins the month of application. Also, if eligible, retroactive coverage for up to three months prior to the month of application. Note: There can be a lag time before SSA is able to stop taking the premiums out of the recipient 's benefit check but the recipient will be reimbursed by SSA for all months eligible for SLMB and/or QMB. The reverse is true when these programs terminate: recipients should be told to put aside premium costs from first month of termination on.

Provides cash assistance to help adults receiving Supplemental Security Income - pay for their basic needs. Adults who are blind, have a disability, or are age 65 and older but don't qualify for SSI because of their income may still be eligible for MSA if they meet income requirements.The basic monthly MSA grant is calculated using either the maximum SSI amount (Federal Benefit Rate) for the adult or their countable income (if they do not receive SSI), and the MSA standard set by state law.Special Needs GrantMSA also may provide special payments for adults who need:- Certain home repairs- Certain household furniture and appliances- Guardian or conservator service fees- Help paying for housing costs through MSA Housing Assistance- Medically prescribed special diets- Representative payee servicesAdults who receive MSA are also eligible for help with medical, food, and housing costs though Medical Assistance - MA, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - SNAP, and MSA Housing Assistance programs.
