Foster Care Services - Village Ranch
Support and assistance to foster care families by providing:
- Assigned program coordinator/case manager providing weekly contact and support to the families
- 24-hour on-call crisis management
- Access to Village Ranch's "Continuum of Care"
- Minimum of twice per month visits to the foster care homes and visits with the children in placement
- Development of placement plans, identifying goals, and monitoring progress toward goals
- Assistance in providing training and accessing community resources to meet the needs of the child and licensing requirements
- Assistance and support in addressing educational needs
Village Ranch will work collaboratively with the placing agency, families, the court system and other individuals involved to support the child and the goals of the placement.

Offers a wide range of counseling, consultation, and assessment to clients, both self-referred and court-ordered. Provides individual, couple, group, and family counseling addressing issues such as:

Post-Permanency Navigator - Foster Adopt Minnesota
Sends outreach and post-permanency support information to parents and caregivers who have recently finalized adoptions or Transfers of Permanent Legal and Physical Custody (TPLPC) guardianships of children from Minnesota foster care, helping to address their questions and resource needs, raising awareness around the post-permanency services available in Minnesota, and connecting parents and caregivers to those service providers. Services include:
- Follow-up for up to 12 months to help address questions that may come up and assist in identifying appropriate post-permanency resources and services as needed
- Personalized resource guide highlighting an array of post-permanency resources, and support available
- Phone and email-based support provided by an adoption or guardian-focused professional who will share information on post-permanency resources such as parent groups, child/teen support groups, training opportunities, permanency-focused camps and family activities, and more

Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) Skills Training:
In-home and community-based therapy to address:
- Anger management
- Social skills
- Assertiveness, problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Impulse control
- Interpersonal and friendship building skills
Skills training is proven to reduce the risk of psychiatric hospitalizations and the need for residential treatment. Services are usually provided twice a week, with two hours of skills-based therapy per session, however, all treatment plans are individualized and may vary. Progress is evaluated every 90 days.
Adoption Support Services
Providing post-adoption attachment support and educating pre-adoptive parents about the effect of past abuse and neglect on their pre-adoptive child
Sexuality-specific Services
Intended to address sexual behavior concerns, this includes individual, family and group therapy, as well as sexual health curriculum regarding boundaries and respect for children ages 4 -12 and teens age 13 - 19

Youth Leadership Council - Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota - Rochester
Plans quarterly projects to raise awareness of issues in the foster care system and advocates for youth currently in care. Purpose is to be a voice for former foster youth, promote and educate about the foster care system, and work for positive change. Focuses on:
- Advocacy: Youth meet with legislators, judges, attorneys and social workers to address needs and wants of youth in care
- Collaboration: Youth meet with other Youth Leadership Councils from around the state to discuss and plan ways to make a change in systems and provide greater community awareness
- Community Development: Youth plan community events to celebrate foster youth and raise awareness of the foster care system and what life is like as a youth in care
- Leadership: Youth meet weekly to dscuss and plan projects and upcoming events related to foster care awareness and advocacy
