Promotes community involvement and philanthropic giving among women in the community of Otter Tail and Wadena County. Women United is involved with programs that promote early literacy including the Imagination Library, Buddy Book Bins, and Prescription Reading. Involvements include: - Educating women on the United Way's Community Impact work - Offering women opportunities to be engaged in the work - Keep women informed about the needs of the community

The women's residential inpatient treatment program serves adult women who are in need of treatment services. Length of stay will vary based on the needs of each patient. Services include: - 28-45 day stay in the residential program - Co-occurring treatment program with on-site mental health services 24 hours/7 days a week - Holistic care to help patients develop the skills to cope, find support systems, understand the relationship with addiction, and recovery - Learn and understand how depression, poor self-esteem, physical, sexual, or psychological abuse may play a role in a woman's addictive history - Referral to internal programs such as the Continuing Care for Alcohol and Drug Recovery Program, DWI Clinic, intensive outpatient alcohol and drug program, halfway house, sober living program, online support network for women, and Residential Treatment for Gambling Recovery. - Work with a multidisciplinary team which includes licensed alcohol and drug counselors, mental health professionals, nursing professionals, personal fitness trainers, dieticians, and a chaplain

Offers a structured sober living home for women transitioning out of or recently completing inpatient treatment. Residents work with a case manager to set goals, access community resources, build life skills, and prepare for independent living. The program provides a supportive, home-like environment with guidance and accountability.

Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention: An intervention and healing program for Native women, girls, and Two Spirit people who have experienced intimate partner violence, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and/or commercial sexual exploitation. Offers counseling and community-based education activities to clients that encourage healing, build resilience, reduce risk of repeat traumas, etc. Healing Journey: A structured peer support group for adult American Indian women ages 18 and over who are challenged by chronic mental health, substance use, and trauma histories. ?Safe Harbor Initiative: A supportive program for youth ages 24 and under who have experienced sexual exploitation or are at risk of sexual exploitation. ?Sexual Assault Advocacy: Provides crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, forensic examination support, and court advocacy for American Indian survivors of sexual violence. Street Outreach: A collaborative street outreach program designed to facilitate a path towards a healthier life for people who are ready to make a positive change. Wawokiye: Provides outreach and services for youth and adults who are experiencing sex trafficking, unsheltered relatives, and those who need services realted to opioid addictions.

Provides FHPAP application assistance only for eligible individuals and families in Hennepin County seeking rent assistance. FHPAP does not provide direct financial assistance. Hennepin County is responsible for determining eligibility and distributing rent assistance funds.

Services provided: - Create an action plan and steps to achieve goals - Develop a budget and savings plan - Encouragement and nonjudgmental support to build financial confidence - Homebuyer and financial education workshop - Individualized planning unique to the needs of each woman - One-on-one advice regarding credit reports and addressing credit problems

Helps patients pay their bills while they undergo treatment for cancer. Pays essential living expenses (car repair, electricity, heat, medical, mortgage, phone, rent, and water) so patients can focus on getting well. Maximum payment for patients receiving treatment is $1,500/year. Prefers to pay larger bills instead of multiple smaller bills. If a bill exceeds $1,500, the organization will pay $1,500 towards the bill. Financial assistance is provided directly to the creditor, not the individual requesting it.
