Public Health Nursing - Carver County Health and Human Services
- Carver County Public Health provides outreach for preventative healthcare such as the Child and Teen Checkups, which includes well-child medical examinations and dental care at no cost to eligible children and teens. The checkups include specific screening components to improve the health of children and teens and limit long-term outcomes of undetected health problems.
- Child Growth and Development Program: The Follow Along Program offers growth and development screening for children ages birth to age three through a series of age-appropriate questionnaires for parents or caregivers. A public health nurse will follow-up with parents or caregivers if a concern is identified.
- Disease Prevention and Control Services: Follow-up and case management services for vaccine-preventable diseases, and latent and active tuberculosis. Follow-up for infants related to Hepatitis B.
- Education and assistance with obtaining maternity and prenatal care or other needed health care or general needs
- Family Home Visiting program provides assessments, education, and community resources for qualifying families about newborn care, child safety, and positive parenting
