Parents receive a development questionnaire called an ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) in the mail every 4 months. Once filled out, the parent returns it to Public Health. The results of the questionnaire are mailed back to the parent with suggested activities to promote growth and development for the child's specific age range. A Public Health Nurse will call the parent if there are concerns. If needed, a nurse discusses further evaluation or tips on how to promote a baby's physical and emotional development. Emergency Management Office - Winona County Sheriff

The Emergency Management Office is responsible for emergency planning for disaster response; public warnings; and coordination of emergency responders from the Winona County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The department is also responsible for the coordination of severe weather operations from the EOC with volunteers from local fire departments, amateur radio, and the general public. For incidents of severe weather, hazardous material releases, terrorism or war, the department issues public warnings via outdoor warning sirens, the emergency alert system, commercial radio, and cable television. During the response and recovery stages of an event, Winona County Emergency Management acts as a liaison between federal, state, and local units of government to promote speedy access to emergency resources and recovery funding.
