Adult parenting education is a strength-based program designed to assist families in using the resources available to them to improve their parenting skills, develop connections to the community, and create a safe, nurturing environment for their family. Helps stabilize families by providing resources and services such as parenting and life skills, prevention and reunification, and housing. ?- Family Spirit Home Visiting Program: Provides an early childhood home visiting program designed specifically for American Indian communities, and is being implemented through a partnership with the Division of Indian Work. - Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Collaborative: Provides advocacy services and intensive case monitoring to in-state Minnesota Native families who are involved in Child Protection. - Life Skills Parenting and The Family Support Program: Partners with Hennepin County to improve outcomes for Native families by providing family counseling, parenting support, life skills training, appropriate referrals, and education in child development and cultural values. - Section 8 Supportive Housing: Provides long-term housing for families who have experienced chronic homelessness. Tenants must demonstrate a commitment to sobriety and agree to MIWRC's zero tolerance policy for onsite substance use, gang affiliation, and/or interpersonal violence.
