Provides a variety of programs for all ages designed to meet physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs including group club activities, summer day camping, senior citizen programs, athletics, arts and crafts, music and drama, preschool program, teen counseling, gymnasium, after school programs, etc. - Fresh food distribution of bread, produce, baked goods, and more is available to anyone. Distribution takes place using a lottery system. - Financial assistance, when funds are available, for rent, deposit, mortgage, utility bill assistance (excluding water bills), some transportation, emergency and supplemental food, and other special needs on a case by case basis. Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items. Household: Furniture is not free. Vouchers are given to assist clients in the purchase of furniture at a discount price at the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Clients must verify they have recently left a shelter, or that they have a new living situation or other crisis situation through a case worker, pastor, school social worker, landlord, etc. Vouchers are capped at $100 per family and can not be used for beds. Transportation: Clients can qualify for tokens or a bus card in one of two ways. The caseworker must be able to verify by telephone that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a permanent job interview or has a medical appointment. Hygiene: Items such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste are available. Clients are eligible once every two months.
