Countable resources include any checking or savings funds, stocks, and bonds. A home, one car, a burial plot, $1500 in burial expenses (if the amount is set aside), furniture, and other household items are not applied toward the resource limit. Participants pay for Medicare services that aren't covered, such as routine physicals and prescription drugs.Generally under these programs, premiums are put back into the monthly Social Security check, increasing participants' monthly income.

Grants are sent directly to client's fuel vendor and/or electric vendor - Mail out applications available - Energy Related Repair Program is available to EAP eligible homeowners that occupies the home and has a hazardous and life threatening situation, has no heat, or has a malfunctioning heating system - Individuals should call for applications(or an application is on the bicap website available to download). Applications will be processed in the order in which they were received. If household is in an emergency situation, can call the Energy Assistance Program staff to see if immediate assistance is available based on funding and the completion of the application.
