SNAP E&T participants gain support, skills, training, or experience to reach their goals. Many organizations, including technical and community colleges, community-based organizations, county agencies, tribes, and CareerForce Centers provide SNAP E&T programs and services. Programs can include career planning, job search, training for in-demand jobs, student support, financial support, and continued support once a participant has a job.

Community-based pre-apprenticeship program. Participants receive hands-on training in construction and carpentry skills while working toward their GED or high school diploma. Youth are offered CPR certification, OSHA certification, and NCCER training. Youth work on a myriad of projects ranging from demolition and renovation to new construction. Every participant is provided with workplace skills via paid work experience. Participants get experience in reading a tape measure, using handheld and power tools, estimating project needs, painting/staining, installing cabinets, sheetrock and mudding, demolition, installing banisters and stairs, concrete work, installing flooring, window installation, roofing, framing garden beds, and picnic tables. Construction projects focus on low-income housing and nonprofit organizations.

Provides a short-term crisis hotline for children and families who are struggling with problems such as child abuse, drugs, parenting concerns, suicide, family relationships, homelessness, etc.- Line is staffed by professional counselors. Equine-Assisted Counseling and Psychotherapy: Provides therapeutic services involving a licensed mental health professional and an equine specialist working with horses. Clients participate in structured, ground-based activities with horses and process emotions, behaviors, and patterns through guided discussion.Ride Rock Ranch: Offers group-based horsemanship lessons for youth ages 6-17 that incorporate riding and horse care along with life skills, academic support, character and faith development, and physical and social-emotional growth.?Senior Saddles: Provides opportunities for older adults to interact with horses, which may include visits, activities, and tours of the ranch environment.

Ramsey County screens all individuals who are being petitioned for civil commitment, a process in which the court determines that an individual's mental illness or chemical dependence is causing them to be a danger to themselves or others. Individuals who are placed under civil commitment may be treated in a community or state hospital or receive intensive community based care during a time of acute need.Screening typically happens at a treating hospital or health care facility. A doctor must certify that the patient is mentally ill or chemically dependent and likely to cause substantial harm to themselves or others.Ramsey County also handles all indeterminate commitments including those who are found to be 'Mentally Ill and Dangerous' and 'Sexually Dangerous Persons.'

Provides quality, healthy food for those in need, helping them be self-sufficient, stable, and successful. Offers a food center and mobile food pantries.- Community Food Center for neighbors. Usage is limited to once a month at any Keystone food shelf (including foodmobile), with four emergency services available per year. Individuals may use one of these four visits to shop an additional time during a month. No appointment is needed.?- Foodmobile distributions operate with many community partners

Emergency Assistance is short-term, one-time assistance for families in a financial crisis that poses a direct threat to their physical health or safety. Services may include:- Home repairs that make the house livable or clean up expenses for an apartment or home to make it livable- Moving expenses- Other additional food support for people who have special dietary needs- Property tax help for past due taxes- Transportation to relocate on a case-by-base basis for bus tickets only- Utility bills at risk of shut off such as electric, heating, or water bills in the city of Minneapolis. Rent must be current and up-to-date in order to receive assistance for utility help.NOTE: EA does not help with rent assistance. Households who need rent assistance must apply through the Tenant Resource Connection Rent Help Hennepin application.

Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help.?Short-term, one-time grant assistance for persons in a financial crisis because of fire, flood, storm, illness, accident, theft, utility shut-off, eviction, foreclosure, moving expense, necessary home repairs, or need for furniture or appliance replacement or repair.
