Minnesota's Medicaid program for people with low income. Most people who have MA receive health care through health plans. Members who do not receive health care through a health plan receive care on a fee-for-service basis, with providers billing the state directly for services they provide.MA pays for a variety of services like doctor visits, prescriptions, and hospital stays. Some services and prescriptions may require prior approval. MA pays for medical bills going back three months from the month the application is received.NOTE: People with disabilities who work, even if they're over the income or asset limits of MA, may still qualify for a program called Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities - MA-EPD.

Educational program for women who have used violence in relationships to help them understand the violence in their lives, both what they experience and the violence they use, as well as how to end both.

Provides resources and information about adult mental health, including information and referral to providers, screening, case management, and connections to community resources. Also coordinates access to contracted crisis response services and other community supports.

Responds to and/or investigates reports of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Child and Family Health Services support families with the following services: - Breastfeeding Classes and Resources: Breastfeeding support services are available in the home, at the Horizon Public Health Office Alexandria main site, and via telephone.- Child Passenger Safety: Specialists can answer questions regarding child safety seats and check your car seats- Family Home Visiting: Registered nurses provide a variety of home visiting programs, including prenatal, postpartum, and ongoing parenting support services. - Follow Along Program: For parents of children ages birth - 5 at no cost to learn if the child is talking, moving, playing, and developing on track for his/her age.
