The county attorney serves as the chief prosecutor of all adult crimes and juvenile offenses committed within Martin County. Services provided:- Handles referrals from the county Human Services Department for commitment for substance use/mental illness cases, child support enforcement, paternity adjudication, child protection actions, and termination of parental rights- Oversees conservatorships and guardianships- Provides legal advice to the county Board of Commissioners and all county departments, as needed, and represents the county in civil lawsuits- Works closely with the Office of the Victim/Witness Coordinator and restraining ordersNOTE: Does not provide personal representation to individual residents

Arranges non-emergency transportation to and from covered health care services. Transportation may be arranged in the following formats:- Common Carrier: includes taxis and volunteer driver programs- Public bus and light rail: may be available for the 7-county metro area and St. Cloud, Duluth, and the greater St. Louis County area- Specialized Transportation Services: includes wheelchair vans and stretcher vehicles

Court services include:- Civil: Cases such as lawsuits involving personal injury, property damage, malpractice, employment issues, wrongful death, implied consents, and Tax Court- Conciliation Court: Small Claims Court. Claim amounts limited to $7500- Criminal: Processing of complaints for violations of law from minor to major offenses including petty misdemeanor, misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony offenses, and traffic and parking violations- Family: Dissolution, custody, support, paternity, domestic abuse, and adoption cases- Juvenile: Cases involving minors under the age of 18 years involved in delinquency, termination of parental rights, truancy, status offenses, runaway, and children in need of protection, and some traffic offenses- Probate: Supervised and unsupervised probating of estates of decedents, guardianships of minors and adults, conservatorships, and commitments for mental illness or chemical dependency- Mental health court (committments)

Services offered:- Short-term child care with a licensed provider for children ages 12 and younger- Family support, including information and referrals to community resources such as baby items and diapers NOTE: Sometimes providers are not available; therefore, immediate placements may not always be available.
