Short term housing options

Provides a full spectrum of learning options for community members in person and online. Adult Education services include:- Basic skills (math, reading, and writing) and computer training- Budgeting and financial literacy- GED preparation- Interview skills- Citizenship- College and career preparation- Creating a resume- English Language Learning (ELL)/English as a Second Language (ESL)-Industry-specific training such as entrepreneur training, carpentry, pre-apprenticeship, ServSafe food manager certification, and para-professional certificationAdults set their own goals and work at their own pace. Instructors help adults explore and achieve their education goals.

Portable Vision and Portable Audio are arts/musical arts based mentoring programs in which teenagers and mentors work together to create quality artistic and musical projects that tell their unique stories.

Helps individuals and families with low incomes (including temporary low incomes) get the food they need for nutritious and well-balanced meals. Provides extra support to help stretch a household's food budget - it is not meant to cover all the groceries a family needs.Monthly benefits are loaded on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks and works like a debit card. The card can be used to buy groceries at authorized stores, farmers markets, and online retailers. Learn more about where to shop and what can be bought.The amount of benefits received is based on income, expenses, and number of people in the household.The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) program provides free employment and education training and support for people getting SNAP benefits. SNAP E&T participants gain support, skills, training, or experience to reach their goals. Many organizations, including technical and community colleges, community-based organizations, county agencies, tribes, and CareerForce Centers provide SNAP E&T programs and services. Programs can include career planning, job search, training for in-demand jobs, student support, financial support, and continued support once a participant has a job.

Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).Helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. While MFIP has a 60-month time limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions.Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet these requirements will result in MFIP grants being sanctioned or reduced.In addition:- Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent- A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy- Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistanceNOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance, and/or Food Support.

Offers scholarships for those attending a technical college or entering as a freshman undergraduate or a graduate student. Must be legally blind in both eyes, and a U.S. citizen. The application will be available at www.acb.org in early November, and it is due back early February

Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, specializing in communities of color and trauma, including:- In home services or by video teletherapy- Individual psychotherapy specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post traumatic stress disorder- Relationship and marriage counseling including LGBTQ2+ couplesNOTE: Each site offers specialties that focus on issues such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, play therapy, family counseling, and urgent support.

Provides free tax assistance to income-eligible individuals and families in Hennepin County by trained and certified volunteers. Assists with preparing federal, state, and property taxes.Tax preparation services offered February through early May and are available virtually rather than in person due to COVID-19.NOTE: Not taking tax filing assistance appointments during the 2025 tax season. Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program focusing on child development and serving 3 and 4 year old children and their families. Services include health, nutrition, education, parent involvement, social services, mental health, disabilities and school readiness.Early Head Start is a home visiting program for pregnant women and children ages birth - 3. Consists of weekly, 90-minute home visits focusing on connection to resources, parenting, early intervention, and preparation for Head Start or other preschool program.

Cash-grant program for adults with low incomes experiencing a household emergency. Adults can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Adults must use their own money first. The amount of assistance received depends on the household size and type of emergency. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help.- Provides assistance with past due rent for eviction, electric service payment assistance, gas service payment assistance, heating fuel payment assistance, and water service payment assistance due to a shutoff. Utility shut-off assistance is limited.- Applicant's name must be on lease, rental agreement, or utility bill- Vendor is paid directly?- Does not help with late or application fees

The program provides a pathway for single parents and pregnant women to complete their education and achieve family financial stability and self-sufficiency. It offers comprehensive wraparound social and financial support to overcome barriers to graduation.

Provides a two-year transitional living program for youth ages 16 - 21 experiencing homeless. Rezek offers 10 efficiency units for single youth as well as two one-bedroom units for parenting youth. Case management and life skills training provided.

Helps families create safe, nurturing environments for children through health screenings, education, support services, and resources that promote physical health, safety, nutrition, and development.Services include:- Blood Lead Testing: Screening services to detect lead exposure in children and adults to prevent lead poisoning.- Child Passenger Safety: Information and services related to child car seat safety and proper restraint use.- Clinic Services: Health services such as birth control options, pregnancy testing, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment.- Family Home Visiting: Home-based support programs for families, including developmental tracking and postpartum/newborn visits to help parents meet goals and connect with support resources.- Immunizations: Vaccination services and information for both children and adults to protect against preventable diseases.
