The council strives to improve the understanding of philanthropy by the general public, elected and appointed public officials, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, academicians, the media, and other special interest groups. These services include:- Minnesota grantmakers online: a web-based directory of foundations and corporate giving programs in Minnesota- Opportunities for education and information on private philanthropy and the grant making process through periodic public meetings and seminars- Periodic research on the extent and nature of private philanthropy, including analysis of giving trends in Minnesota- Quarterly newspaper, Giving Forum, covering activities and trends of interest to nonprofit organizations and the general public

Employment counselors help SNAP clients in gaining skills and abilities to obtain employment to gain self-sufficiency, including:- Adult education?- Budgeting assistance?- Career planning?- Computer classes?- Interviewing skills?- Job search assistance?- Post-secondary education?- Resume development?- Short-term training?- Support services?- Transportation assistance?- Vocational interest

Public works services include the following: - Maintenance of roads (construction; culvert replacements; repair; replacing defective water and sewer components; roadside mowing; snow plowing), water and sanitation systems- Wastewater treatment?- Water and septic system assistance?- Water supply

Provides in home support services including: Homemaker Adult companionship 24 hour/7 days a week emergency assistance Integrated community support

ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to Kindergarten entrance. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Programming and education services often include parents/caregivers and children but may just include parents/caregivers.Works to strengthen families and engage the ability of all parents to provide an environment that supports the healthy development of their child. Services may include:- Book and toy lending library- Dad and child programs- Early childhood screening for children ages 3 - 5- Home visits- Information on community resources- Parent-child activities- Parent discussion groups- Play and learn activities for children- Special events for the entire family- Programs for non-English language learners- School readiness program for children ages 3 1/2 - 4- Single parent program- Workshops on specific topics

Provides supplemental food and vouchers for fresh produce. Individuals may visit the food shelf once per month and usually receive 60 pounds worth of food.

Provides medical assistance to refugees.NOTE: Refugees who are eligible for Medical Assistance are served through that program. Refugees receiving Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) are automatically eligible for RMA if they are not already MA eligible.

The Energy Assistance Program helps pay heat and electricity costs. Payments for energy bills are sent directly to the household's energy company or fuel provider for propane, fuel oil, or wood. Financial assistance varies depending on household income and fuel costs.The Energy Assistance Program provides additional grants for eligible households who need help with:- Getting reconnected to heat and power after disconnections- Paying for emergency file deliveries of propane, heating oil, or biofuel- Preventing disconnectionNOTE: The deadline to apply for this program is the end of May. Applications for the following heating season will be accepted starting around September.

Provides nutrition education and special foods which promote good health for pregnant, breastfeeding, and post-partum women. Services also include: - Assistance with any special needs- Health assessment and screening- Referral to other community services

Provides law enforcement and community services. Provides early advanced life support with a supply of drugs and medical equipment not normally available until an ambulance arrives. Also offers a crime-stoppers group that helps in the fight against crime by reporting information about crimes.

Provides fire response services and burning permits

Provides living and care options to older adults and individuals in need of services for:Memory Care:- Assistance with activities of daily living- Provide personalized dementia care organized around the individual's need- Round the clock dining- Specifically designed activities for those with memory loss- Wellness and exercise classes throughout the weekRehabilitation:- Family support to integrate the family into the individual's plan of care- Inpatient short-term rehabilitation to help older adults recover from a complex medical issue with 24-hour care- Outpatient therapy sessions at rehabilitation centers for those recovering from a surgery or injury. Some therapies may include physical, occupational, and speech therapy.Skilled Nursing:- Diabetes management, pain management, medication administration, and wound care- Full therapy services- Resident and caregiver education- Long and short-term care options as well as palliative and hospice care- Nursing rehabilitation and post-surgical care- Skilled observation, assessment, and respiratory care- Wellness programming

Recovery Services- Coaching: A personal recovery plan is developed founded on the individual's strengths that incorporates goal setting based on a number of life areas in addition to their substance use disorder. Coaching is not a 12-step-based program. - Support for family and loved ones

Provides services to battered victims and their families and victims of general crime and their families

The Wolfe Center provides emergency overnight shelter for anyone 18+ who needs it.Showers and laundry services are provided onsite.Drinking and drugs are not allowed on the property but guests will not be turned away for being intoxicated. No pets allowed.The Wolfe is open seasonally from October through May.
