Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. Emergency assistance provides short-term, one-time assistance for households in a financial crisis because of fire, flood, storm, illness, accident, theft, utility shut-off, eviction, foreclosure, moving expense, necessary home repairs, or need for furniture or appliance replacement or repair.

Provides outpatient mental health services such as:- Individual and Family Therapy: Help address feelings of helplessness, sadness, difficulty concentrating on everyday activities, excessive worry, harmful thoughts, and actions that may cause harm to self or others. Therapy explores desired goals and works on changes in the way of thinking, reacting, and behaving.- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Helps people suffering from mood disorders and those with harmful behavior patterns to increase emotion regulation skills, decrease fluctuating emotions and moods, increase distress tolerance skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills, and mindfulness.- Psychiatry Services: Performs a full range of medical laboratory, psychological tests, and medication management to help assess both the physical and mental aspects of the client's mental health.

Legal representation and/or advice with critical legal needs in family law:- Criminal Temporary Protective Orders, Emergency Protective Orders, Permanent Restraining Orders, Stalking/Harassment Orders, and Temporary Restraining Orders- Custody between parents- Divorce- Grandparent custody- Some other critical legal needs with other civil legal problems

Provides free assistive phone devices to Minnesotans who qualify. Designed to make telephone communication more accessible for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or have a speech or physical disability. Equipment provided includes, but is not limited to:- Hands-free speaker phones- Light-flashing ringers- Loud ringers- Phones for individuals with speech impairments- Phones that display the caller's words on a screen and allow the user to respond verbally- Special equipment for people who are deafblind- Phones with amplified or enhanced sound for clearer hearing- TTYsRepairs or replaces equipment that is not working properly or no longer meets the client's needs. If a person is not eligible based on income, the TED Program can provide information on where to purchase devices.

Pays for room and board for seniors and adults with disabilities who have low incomes. Aims to reduce and prevent people from living in institutions or becoming homeless. ?All recipients receive assistance each month to help pay for rent and food. Some recipients also receive Housing Support supplemental funding to provide other services if they don't qualify for home and community-based waiver programs, including but not limited to:?- Arranging for medical and social services- Arranging for meetings and appointments- Assistance with transportation- Medication reminders ?The individual's housing provider receives payments to pay for rent, utilities, food, household supplies, and other necessities.

Provide investigation and intervention services on behalf of vulnerable adults who are unable to act on their own behalf, manage their own affairs, or who are in immediate danger of abuse. Types of abuse may be physical, emotional, sexual abuse, unsafe or hazardous living conditions, exploitation, neglect, or abandonment. Services include:- Taking reports and investigating abuse and/or maltreatment- Removal of the individual to safer surroundings- Services necessary to remove the conditions which have created a threat to lifeNOTE: Complaints, questions, or concerns involving incidents in facilities licensed by the Health Department, such as hospitals, nursing homes, boarding care homes, supervised living facilities, assisted living, and home health agencies can be referred to the Minnesota Board on Aging Ombudsman for Long-Term Care.

Employment counselors help individuals with:- Budgeting- Guidance and support- May be able to provide funding to pay for housing, transportation, tuition, books, and other education expenses- Pursuing a GED, diploma, certificate, or degree- Seeking employment- Stress management skills

Emergency medicine and Level 1 trauma center for severe and life-threatening situations that require immediate medical attention, including:- Acute abdominal pain- Breathing difficulty of any type- Chest pain or pressure- Dehydration- Fractures- Head or neck injuries- Heavy bleeding- High or sustained fevers- Loss of consciousness- Motor vehicle crash injuries- Severe infections including cases of sepsis- Sudden severe headaches, paralysis, seizure or stroke symptomsMayo Clinic Ambulance Service available for emergency ground and air medical transport services

Provides personal care attendants for people who have physical, mental, or emotional disabilities

Health educators provide free, one-on-one, confidential information and referral concerning:- Birth control methods (how to use, side effects, effectiveness, where to get)- Clinic referrals for affordable birth control, STI testing/treatment, pregnancy testing, pap smears and pelvic exams, support groups for sexual health concerns, pregnancy prevention and planning, emergency contraception, sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, infertility and reproductive health issues, and AIDS information.- Emergency contraception- Pregnancy prevention- Pregnancy symptoms- Sexually transmitted infections symptoms, treatment options and prevention

Provides assisted living designed for individuals who want extra support while still enjoying comfort and independence. Servicdes provided:- Access to 24 hours/7 days a week on-site services such as health monitoring and medication management- Housekeeping and laundry- Personalized assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and more- Social and recreational programs

Provides comprehensive mental health care for individuals, including:- Anxiety- Co-occurring addiction and mental health problems- Depression- Difficult life transitions including grief, and unexpected loss- Family and relationship problems- Post-traumatic stress disorder- Problems related to history of traumaTeletherapy services available for chemical health assessments, comprehensive assessments, state-funded gambling services, participation in IOP, relapse prevention, and continuing care programming, individual mental health therapy, and diagnostic assessments

Offers a confidential and anonymous peer support line for the entire military community to help address challenges before they escalate into a crisis, have questions about themselves, a friend, a loved one, or need to talk confidentially. Services include:- Connection to a peer who is a veteran or a member of the military community- Help finding resources and solutions- Individuals remain connected and engaged after initial contact, as long as it takes, until the issue is resolved- Provides active listening skills, understanding, and supportNOTE: Not a crisis support line

Provides an advocate/support person for the rape or sexual assault victim and their families; this includes victims of partner rape, acquaintance rape, date rape, stranger rape, gang rape, ritualistic rape, or any form of sexual assault.Also addresses sexual harassment and hostile work environment issues.Provides support through services:- Books and resources- Crisis counseling and intervention- Crisis line- Information and referral- Legal/court/law enforcement advocacy- Medical advocacy- Orders for Protection or Harassment Restraining Order assistance- Reparations (financial assistance for crime-related costs)

Provides housing assistance for low-income individuals and families that include at least one adult with a serious mental illness while they wait for a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or another rental subsidy. Eligible use for Bridges funding includes temporary rental assistance payments and security deposits paid directly to the landlord on behalf of qualified participants.

Minnesota's version of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). Statewide MFIP helps families work their way out of poverty by providing temporary cash and food benefits to eligible families. Statewide MFIP has a 60 month time limit, there are some limited exceptions and extensions to the time limit. Participants are required to follow certain work rules. Failure to meet work rules will result in their MFIP grant being sanctioned, or reduced. In addition:- Child support will be pursued in those situations where one or both parents are absent.- A woman expecting a baby may receive assistance for herself during her pregnancy- Children who are being cared for by certain relatives may receive assistanceNOTE: MFIP recipients may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Medical Assistance and/or Food Support.
