Eligibility

  • Veterans and their dependents who are residents of Winona County- State Subsistence is available to a veteran or a surviving spouse if they are disabled and prevented from working at their normal occupation for at least 30 days or without a disabling medical condition within one year of the Veteran's death.

Provides assistance and support to veterans and their dependents in obtaining benefits through county, federal, and state programs including:- Burial and death benefits- Dental and healthcare benefits- Disability compensation- Education and training- Home loan guarantees- Job placement services- Mental health services- Pension benefits- State Subsistence Assistance: Financial assistance for healthcare insurance premiums, personal needs funds, shelter-associated payments, and utility assistance.
