- The animal pound is open to the public Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM Closed weekends and holidays - Three Animal Control Officers maintain the pound. For complaints about animals or questions about impounded animals, you may contact one of the following Officers during the specified hours in person or by phone at the pound 218- 283-9276, or by calling: - Law Enforcement Center 218-283-4416 - Pick-up fee for impounded animals remains at $20 - A second incident in a calendar year will result in a $30 fee - A third occurrence in a calendar year and each occurrence thereafter will result in a $50 fee - A fee of $2 for daily care until animal picked up - A daily fee of $4 for a dog or $2 for a cat if animal is not properly licensed. Licenses can be purchased at the pound anytime during regular hours. Questions or complaints regarding pound staff should be directed to the Chief of Police at 283-4416.
