Individuals in need of permanent supportive or transitional housing should call United Way 211 to complete a pre-screen. Once the applicant is pre-screened, if they are homeless or in need of housing assistance, they proceed through the Saint Louis County Coordinated Entry system.If homeless, households are to be assessed by a case manager using a VI-SPIDAT and supplemental questions. Households experiencing homelessness are scheduled for an appointment. Housing case managers meet with the household, complete the assessment, and initiate the process of applying for benefits, provide housing applications, and ensure the household is entered on the priority list for housing.
