Eligibility

Veterans charged with a crime and who are experiencing a treatable behavioral, mental health, or substance abuse problem related to the offense who reside in the counties of Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Rock and Watonwan in Minnesota

Hours

  • Veterans Court: 12 noon 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month- A pre-court staffing session takes place at 11 am in the County Attorney's Office on second floor of the Justice Center.

Application process

Referral only. The Veterans court team meets to decide if the candidate meets qualifications. If so, the candidate will be notified by a member of the team to set up an appointment to discuss the program, and fill out paperwork.

The Court promotes sobriety, recovery, and stability through a coordinated response that involves cooperation and collaboration with the traditional partners found in problem solving courts, with the addition of the U.S. department of Veterans Affairs Health Care networks, the Veterans Benefits Administration, volunteer veteran mentors, and veterans' family support organizations.
