A collaborative project between MCIL and Minnesota Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Provides core independent living services such as information and referral, individual advocacy, and independent living skills training to people enrolled in vocational rehabilitation services.Specialists are stationed in vocational rehabilitation offices, typically housed within Minnesota Workforce Center locations. While clients work on job goals with counselors, they simultaneously work with the independent living specialist from MCIL on issues that are impacting their ability to work. These services are meant to address immediate and long-term needs.A referral is required. If an individual is looking for IL/VR services, consult the nearest Vocational Rehabilitation Services office.
