Open to all households who meet housing choice voucher program income eligibility requirements. - Not have been evicted from federally assisted housing in the last 3 years- Not owe money to another public housing agency - Not be a current registered predatory or sex offender- Not have been convicted of the production of methamphetamine - Pass criminal background screening- Preference for those who reside in Stevens/Traverse counties

Section 8 Rent Assistance is designed to help low income families meet their monthly housing costs - Program provide benefits each month by paying some of a family's rent directly to the landlord - Tenant pays about 30% of monthly income toward rent & utilities - Benefits can be provided to approximately 128 families a month: Program operates at capacity New applicants generally placed on waiting list Openings occur on a regular basis
