  • Be a newly arrived refugee or have a qualifying immigration status- Be a resident of Brown County- Be ineligible for Medical Assistance (MA)- Meet income and household size requirementsIf you are already receiving Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA), you may automatically qualify for RMA if you are not eligible for MA

Program Fees

Provides medical coverage to refugees who are not eligible for other Minnesota Health Care Programs. It offers comprehensive health care services, including doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, and preventive services. RMA is available for up to eight months from the date of arrival in the United States or the date of the eligible status grant.NOTE: Refugees who are eligible for Medical Assistance are served through that program. Refugees receiving Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) are automatically eligible for RMA if they are not already MA eligible.
