Application Process
Cash-grant program for families with low incomes experiencing household emergencies. Families can receive assistance once every 12 months. The assistance received must resolve the crisis. Families must use their own money first. The amount of financial assistance provided depends on family size and type of emergency. The amount of assistance provided might not cover the entire emergency, but it can help. - Helps families experiencing a financial crisis and may provide financial assistance for up to two months of rent, one month with a deposit, or utilities (electric, gas, and heating service payment assistance). Families must apply for Fuel Assistance during the heating season. - Applicant must have spent at least 30% of their available income on housing and utilities in the past 90 days - Financial assistance is paid directly to the vendor. Does not provide financial assistance for late fees.
