Application Process
The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge provides 240,00 acres of wetlands, forest, river, and prairie lands for the public to explore. There are opportunities for environmental education, hunting, fishing, canoe and bike trails, and wildlife viewing. The visitor center is available providing interactive exhibits and a movie about the seasonal sights and sounds on the refuge as well as public restroom.

The administrative office for the US Fish and Wildlife service oversees the Winona, La Crosse, and McGregor Districts in Minnesota and Wisconsin. (This office also oversees the Savanna District in Cordova, Illinois.)
