Employs eligible youth in temporary jobs as part of year-round youth employment and training services under the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Minnesota Youth Program (MYP).Education and Training:- Education and training for specific occupations- Entrepreneurial skills training- Financial literacy education- Job-shadowing -Leadership development opportunities, including community service and peer-centered activitiesJob Search and Placement Services:- Assistance in identifying and describing skills- Help with resume writing and interview preparationPaid Work Experiences:- Internships- On-the-job training opportunities- Summer and other employment opportunities available throughout the school yearSupportive Services:- Assessment tools to learn more about individual skills, abilities, and interests that can then be used to discover or confirm a career path in today's job market- Referrals to other services and resources, as appropriate to the needs of the individual- Supportive mentoring- Work clothing and transportation assistance available depending on youth goals and availability of funding
