Individuals ages 18 and older who are low-income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline and are residents of Aitkin, Carlton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine County

Description

??T?he FAIM program provides working low-income Minnesotans to increase their savings, build assets, and enter the financial mainstream. The program is a matched savings project to help participants purchase a first home, pursue higher education, launch a small business, or purchase a vehicle. Participants in the program deposit up to $84 monthly from their earned income into a Family Asset Account (custodial savings account). Participants have up to 24 months to save their earnings and may be matched by the program rate of 3:1 upon successful completion of their contract. All participants are also required to complete a 12-hour Financial Literacy course and 10 hours of asset-specific training.
