- Encourage and support research efforts in identifying the causes and mechanisms of Ataxia, improving diagnosis, and developing treatment models - Locating families affected by ataxia or at risk for Ataxia to offer information and education - Identifying needs and services for purposes of referral, including referral to Ataxia clinics and neurologists - Creating and making available educational programs for ataxia families, health care professionals, and the general public - Increasing public awareness of Ataxia - Chapters, support groups, and informational meetings - Brochures and fact sheets available on many of the ataxias; videos on Ataxia
