Description

Provides a holistic approach to healing, which includes: - Connection to local community resources, social service organizations, and social workers to support survivors and work with external partners - Empowering survivors of torture to rebuild their lives and overcome the trauma they have experienced - Integrated case management services toward asylum-seeking families who have experienced torture and persecution, such as psychosocial screenings. Case workers set up tele-case management, develop a basic approach to meet their needs, and connect them to resources for medical, mental health care, shelter, schooling, and other social supports. - Mental health counseling such as individual, group counseling, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) counseling. Clinicians conduct outreach and assessments to understand the needs of survivors. Additional services include learning self-regulation, adapting, and coping skills. - Physiotherapy and trauma-informed care offering a 10-week group and individual session. Offers support to help survivors heal, manage pain, maintain strength through exercises, nervous system regulation tools, and self-awareness.
