Pays Part B Medicare, Medigap, commercial health insurance, and COBRA premiums for dialysis patients who have insufficient income and savings; this is a "last resort" source of financial assistance.The American Kidney Fund Safety Net Grants cover:- Disaster relief grants- Transportation expenses for travel to dialysis- Prescription medications- Other necessities that patients may have related to their treatment- Kidney donor expenses- The cost of dialysis while traveling (emergency dialysis)Also offer nutritional products and durable medical supplies at discount prices through contracts with certain mail-order pharmacies
