Provides assistance and support to veterans and their dependents in obtaining benefits through state and federal programs, including:- Applying for health care enrollment for VA health care including primary medical care, medications, inpatient and outpatient care, chemical dependency, optometry, orthopedics, podiatry, audiology, and more- Burial benefits- Claims for compensation and pension- Education- Employment- Housing including VA home loan, State Veterans Homes (long term care, board, and care), and homeless resources- Obtain a DD-214/discharge papers- Temporary financial assistance through State Soldiers and Assistance Programs (SSAP) including dental, optical, special needs education benefits, substance assistance, and war orphan benefits
