Homebuyers Club meets first-time homebuyer education requirements. Classes are offered quarterly. Some topics covered during the Homebuyers Club:- Budgeting- Choosing a mortgage- Do-it-yourself home maintenance- Goal setting- Identifying a "dream home"- Negotiating a sale- Predatory lending- Shopping for a realtor, loan officer and home inspector- Types of loans available- Understanding credit and reading a credit report- What to look for with a home inspectorGraduates may be eligible for a grant from the Scott County Community Development Agency for down payment assistance.
