Payment Options
Designed to assist low-income families with their monthly rent payments. Provides for a rent subsidy to be paid to the owner of a rental unit on behalf of the eligible family. Family will pay approximately 30% of its monthly income for rent, and Austin Housing and Redevelopment Authority will make up the difference to the approved payment standard. Rent is to include maintenance and utility services. Note: Only families eligible to receive Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) assistance are eligible for the homeownership option, must be first-time home buyers, and complete a homeownership counseling program.
