- Advise and educate the governor, state legislature, and other policy makers on issues confronting persons of African heritage- Cultural and historical programming to celebrate and preserve the artistic, cultural, and historical heritages of Minnesota's Black community- Serve as a liaison to the local, state, and federal government- Serve as a referral agency to assist African Americans and native Africans to secure access to state agencies and programs- Research issues affecting African Americans and native Africans, publicize the accomplishments of African Americans and native Africans, and their contributions to Minnesota
