Eligibility is determined by applicant's financial status, type of legal service desired, urgency, and whether a lawyer in private practice would take the case on a contingent fee basis - that is, secure their fee from the lawsuit

Description

Provides legal advice, advocacy, representation, and referral services to taxpayers who are low income and having issues with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Additonal services include: - Addressing identity theft problems - Advocating for an audit reconsideration - Helping recover a portion of your refund taken for a spouse's debt - Providing representation in US Tax Court for people with low incomes or who speak English as a second language - Reducing or eliminating tax debt - Stopping IRS collection action - Worker misclassification
