Child Protective Services accepts, responds to, and/or investigates reports of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Services may include the following: assessment of the initial referral, consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem, temporary placement of children who are removed from the home, work with the family toward unification or reunification, ongoing support services for children and their families with referrals to appropriate resources in the community.
