Eligibility

Open to all who meet the following:- Have a hearing loss, speech or physical disability that limits use of a standard telephone- Have a telephone in their home or have applied for telephone service- Have a family income equal to or below program guidelines

Program Fees

  • No Fee
Provides free assistive phone devices to Minnesotans who qualify. Designed to make telephone communication more accessible for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or have a speech or physical disability. Equipment provided includes, but is not limited to:- Hands-free speaker phones- Light-flashing ringers- Loud ringers- Phones for individuals with speech impairments- Phones that display the caller's words on a screen and allow the user to respond verbally- Special equipment for people who are deafblind- Phones with amplified or enhanced sound for clearer hearing- TTYsRepairs or replaces equipment that is not working properly or no longer meets the client's needs. If a person is not eligible based on income, the TED Program can provide information on where to purchase devices.
