A nurse home visiting program to work toward the improvement of:- Family economic self-sufficiency- Maternal and child health well being- Prevention of child abuse or maltreatment- Prevention of childhood injuries and reduction of emergency department visits- Reduction in a crime or domestic violence- Referrals to other community resources and supports- School readinessNOTE: Nurse-Family Partnership works by having specially trained nurses regularly visit young, first-time moms-to-be, starting early in the pregnancy, continuing through the child's second birthday
